Technical Intern Training

Skill transfer to developing nations

The Technical Intern Training Program (技能実習制度) is designed to transfer skills, technologies, and knowledge to developing countries. It fosters human resources who can lead the economic development of their home countries.

The program provides training across manufacturing, agriculture, and construction sectors, allowing interns to work in Japan for up to five years, gaining practical skills and internationally recognized credentials.

Addressing Labor Shortages in Japan

The Specified Skilled Worker program (特定技能制度) addresses Japan's critical labor shortages by enabling foreign workers with proven skills and Japanese language ability to work across 14 designated industries.

Type (i) allows up to 5 years without family. Type (ii) offers renewable stay with family accompaniment for advanced industries. Both require passing official skill and Japanese language assessments.

The Highly Skilled Professional visa (高度人材ビザ) attracts foreign workers with advanced specializations to enhance Japan's economic competitiveness through a transparent, points-based evaluation system.

Higher point scores unlock extended stays, permanent residency eligibility after just 3 years, and the ability to bring family members. Evaluated by the Immigration Services Agency of Japan.
